Springfield seeking input for Comprhensive Master and 20th Street Corridor Plans.

The City of Springfield is updating the Comprehensive Master Plan and developing a 20th Street Corridor Plan and is seeking input from residents, local businesses, community organizations, officials, and others. Budget meeting highlights the solid financial status of the city and key priorities.

City Manager Vester Davis, Finance Director Ethan Moody, and Public Works Director Chaz Wilkey led the budget presentation for fiscal year 2024-25 at a meeting of City Council on May 6 at the Susan L. Anderson Municipal Building. A copy of the budget presentation can be found online in the agenda packet for May 6th, or view the budget here. The public hearing on the budget will be held May 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Susan L. Anderson Municipal Building located at 601 Avenue A, Springfield, Michigan 49037. The new fiscal year starts July 1, 2024.

Springfield is seeking bids for a certified grant administrator.

The City of Springfield, a recognized Unit of General Local Government (UGLG), is accepting proposals from Certified Grant Administrators for management and administrative services required by the City of Springfield for implementation of a proposed Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) if funded by the state.  The project for which funds will be requested consists of homeowner rehabilitation, to preserve affordable housing unit. The estimated budget for this project is $250,000. All compliance components will be reviewed. 

To be considered, proposals must be received by the City of Springfield prior to 5:00PM on May 22, 2024. The City of Springfield reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. Questions concerning this request should be addressed to Vester Davis, Jr. at (269) 441-9271.
